The Gender and Sexuality Collections were established in 2011 to document the LGBT+ communities in Georgia and the Southeast.
The Collections are comprised of personal papers, records of organizations, photographs, textiles, artifacts, video and sound recordings, and oral history interviews. A rapidly-growing and heavily used component of the collections is the Gender and Sexuality Periodical Collection. This includes extensive runs of David Atlanta, Etcetera, Southern Voice, and Georgia Voice. It also includes important regional and national periodicals, such as RFD (Radical Faerie Digest), the Advocate, Out, and Christopher Street. Smaller runs and unique items are also collected and made available to researchers.
