The Gender and Sexuality Oral History Project was established in 2011, and forms part of the Gender and Sexuality Collections. It aims to document LGBTQ+ history in Atlanta, Georgia and the South through interviews with activists and leaders in grassroots movements as well as established organizations and public offices.
Most of the interviews are recorded using audio and video equipment, although some may be available in audio form only. Some of the interviews included in this guide were originally recorded as part of other oral history projects. They are included here for ease of use, and in those instances, the original projects will be noted.
This guide is a work in progress, as many of the interviews have not yet been fully processed. The guide will be updated on a regular basis. If you would like to access any of the interviews, please contact the Women's / Gender and Sexuality Collections Archivist.
