Biography:
Alexandro Martinez was born in Venezuela in1955, the son of a Ukrainian father and Colombian mother.
Abstract:
Martinez begins by describing his family background and history. His father was Ukrainian, his mother was Colombian, and Martinez was born in Venezuela. As a child, his family immigrated to the United States and settled in Philadelphia, where Martinez fondly recalls his teachers. Shortly thereafter, his mother left his father and returned with Martinez and his sister to Venezuela. Martinez states that did not know he was gay until he was 26, which was a challenging realization. Despite his relationship and intent to marry his girlfriend, he attended gay bars and met his current partner, Alex. Martinez recounts that after his father's death, troubles arose with his sister, for which he and Alex sought help from a witch. Martinez discusses the political situation in South America, and then concludes by highlighting sayings his grandmother often used, and recalls a dream in which she appeared to him after her death.
