This tutorial is for the *WINDOWS* version of NVivo. Differences in interface, functionality, and features between the Mac and Windows version of NVivo may make it challenging to follow along with the Windows tutorial if you are using a Mac. If you need one-on-one training for the Mac version of NVivo, please directly contact Mandy Swygart-Hobaugh, Ph.D. See the NVivo research guide here.
This is the first tutorial in a two-part series on NVivo qualitative data analysis software.
Topics
Prerequisites: Basic understanding of qualitative research methods is suggested, but not required. Watching this short tutorial on coding qualitative data prior to the NVivo 1 tutorial is recommended.
This is the second tutorial in a two-part series on NVivo qualitative data analysis software.
Topics
Prerequisites: NVivo 1

This tutorial is on using NVivo qualitative data analysis software to do team work / team coding in NVivo involving 2 or more people. It will cover various strategies for tracking team members’ work in NVivo and comparing coding, including generating inter-rater reliability measures.
Topics:
Prerequisites: Attendance at minimally the NVivo 1 tutorial and optionally the NVivo 2 tutorial.
ONLINE GUIDE | LIVE session (either in-person or virtual) typically occurs annually in Fall semester -- watch the library PIN postings for the next offering.
Dr. LaRossa and Dr. Mandy Swygart-Hobaugh present this joint session. Dr. LaRossa discusses the steps involved in building theoretically-rich qualitative analyses (the logics) and Dr. Swygart-Hobaugh outlines the specific features of NVivo qualitative research software that complement and facilitate these analyses (the logistics). NOTE: This session does NOT involve hands-on NVivo training -- see here for recorded tutorials.
