User Guide for Perimeter College's Freshman Composition e-textbooks

Getting the e-text in iCollege - For Students

  1. Log into iCollege and go to your ENGL 1101 or 1102 class. 
  2. In your class, locate and click on the link to the ENGL 1101 textbook. It is probably in the Content Browser. Its exact location depends on how your instructor organized your class.  The file may be called "Successful College Writing (2016)" or  "Successful College Writing for GPC Students."
  3. Select the type of file you prefer. (Note: Successful College Writing (2016) is only available in PDF.)
    • The PDF file will open on most devices.  
    • The iOS file (.epub) will open on iPads and similar devices. (Make sure you have the iBooks app installed on your iPad first.)
    • The Kindle file (.mobi) will open on a Kindle or Kindle app on iPad.

 

4. If you choose the PDF file, it will open in iCollege in a PDF preview.  (It will take a while to fully download.)

5. From here, you can download the file to print or save the file. You do not need to wait for this file to load to open the file in a PDF viewer or download the file.
