These programs are like iTunes for citations: they give you one place to save your references, organize and search them, and automatically create bibliographies.

I prefer Zotero, but check out EndNote as an option too.

These are the main bibliographic styles used in Anthropology courses. 

Ask at the reference desk of your campus library for print editions of the Chicago and APA style manuals.

All students should use some kind of citation management application to save time and organize your sources.

I recommend Zotero, but see the links in the sidebar at left for EndNote and other options.

With Zotero:

• You can save, organize, and manage your citations for research projects, and synchronize your library for access anywhere you have an Internet connection.

• You can automatically generate reference lists from your Zotero library in whatever style you need – and change the style if needed – AND you don’t have to hand type it.

• You can easily insert in-text citations into your paper with a couple of clicks and automatically generate your reference list.

• You can create group libraries in Zotero to easily collaborate group projects.
