To route a persistent URL in JSTOR through the library login, simply copy the remote access URL. Here's how to find it:
- Search for the specific item in JSTOR.
- Click the title for the item that you want to link to.
- Look at the item details in the left column.
- The "Remote Access URL" will give you the full URL that you need.
Here’s an example of a stable remote access URL in JSTOR:
https://shibbolethsp.jstor.org/start?entityID=https%3A%2F%2Fidp.gsu.edu%2Fopenathens&dest=https://www.jstor.org/stable/20107133&site=jstor
JStor also provides a stable URL without the routing to GSU's authentication server. If you use that stable URL, be sure to paste in the OpenAthens prefix in front of the stable URL
- Click the title of an item in your results list to see a stable URL.
- The stable URL is located under the title and citation information and looks like this: http://www.jstor.org/stable/3180864
- Copy the stable URL in a Word document or somewhere that you can edit it.
- Paste the OpenAthens prefix: https://go.openathens.net/redirector/gsu.edu?url= in front of the given stable URL
The finished persistent URL looks like this:
https://go.openathens.net/redirector/gsu.edu?url=https://www.jstor.org/stable/3504657
