GSU Library - Resources to Support Teaching & Learning Online

Instructional Opportunities

In consideration of the potential disruption to in-person courses at GSU campuses, the University Library can provide various levels of support in the following ways. (Note: Faculty who are temporarily online are encouraged to request sessions with a librarian at their usual campus.)

  • Request a library instruction session through WebEx. These sessions may be live and/or recorded for later viewing.
  • Request asynchronous instruction. Librarians will work with you to develop an asynchronous instruction plan that could include videos, research guides, and interactive tutorials designed to fit your students' needs.
  • Schedule group WebEx consultations with a librarian. These consultations appointments will be made through the instructing librarian and shared with the faculty member.
  • Assign an instruction librarian as an instructor in your iCollege shell to serve as the course embedded librarian. Per the librarian's availability they could provide assistance such as adding relevant online instructional materials (research guides, YouTube tutorials, etc.) or oversee a Research Help discussion board.
  • Assign your students to watch selected GSU Library Tutorials or Webinars

Remote Resources for GSU Library Users

When the Library is closed, or you prefer to work remotely, there are many ways the Library can provide you with expert help and services. Always check the GSU Library website for the latest info about our hours and services.

Library Consultations

You can request personal, online research consultations by contacting your Subject Librarian at the Atlanta Campus or Perimeter Campus Librarians. After submitting your request, library staff will contact you via email to confirm availability and provide a WebEx/Google Hangouts link to join the virtual consultation. You can also email the library at ask@gsu.email.libanswers.com
