Introduction

The Special Collections Department of Georgia State University Library holds a variety of materials pertaining to nurses and the nursing profession, ranging from an early manual by Florence Nightingale to the records of Grady Hospital School of Nursing, 1900-1984. The majority of archival materials are from the Southeast and especially Georgia. Brief descriptions summarize these archival holdings, providing the name of the collection, its span in years, a short note on the contents, and its extent measured in linear feet. All materials are available for use unless noted otherwise.
