Students will be able to use a time management application to manage time wisely for studying.
For some students college life comes with more freedom than ever before. While some may translate that to be an endless party, with more freedom comes more responsibility. It will be your responsibility to follow the syllabus and submit assignments on time. Some professors do not accept late assignments resulting in a grade of zero for that assignment. Other professors automatically lower the assignment by one letter grade on late assignments before it is even graded. The fact that you are now in college means that you are capable of doing the work. But, if you are not organized, you may never get around to completing an assignment or have the time that you need to complete it to the best of your ability. Evernote, Pomodor, and Remember the Milk are only three of the apps that can help you manage your time. Find the app that works best for you for effective time management.
Remember the Milk
Availability: Android, Blackberry 10, iOS, Kindle Fire, Linux, macOS, Microsoft Windows, Web
Cost: Free (Basic Plan), $39.99 per year (Pro Plan)
Remember the Milk enables users to prioritize tasks according to due date, importance, and other factors. Users can also tag, clone, and color-code items; attach files to tasks; and create subtasks for large projects.
The app integrates with many other programs, including Dropbox, Microsoft Outlook, Google Drive, and Evernote. Remember the Milk can sync across all of a user's devices. Nontraditional students might find the app especially helpful because they can delegate tasks to others, including members of their family.
Assignment: Select a time management app of your preference and use that app to set up a calendar for study time.
Assessment: Submit screenshot or share calendar. What are the pros and cons of the app? Did it improve your study habits? Why or why not?
