APA PsycInfo and Journals

APA PsycInfo is the primary database for the field of psychology and for the field of counseling. The database indexes thousands of psychology journals including all of the American Psychological Association (APA) journals, and almost all of the American Counseling Association (ACA) journals.

Most of the time, you will construct a topic search across all journals in APA PsycInfo. However, if you'd like to search across select journals all at once, here's how:

Type in the journal name in quotes.
If typing in more than one journal, type OR between the titles like this:
- "american journal of counseling and development" OR "career development quarterly" OR "counselor education and supervision" OR "journal of addiction & offender counseling" OR "journal of employment counseling" OR "journal of humanistic counseling" OR "journal of multicultural counseling and development"
Then add your search terms to the second search box :

A Few Counseling Journals not indexed in APA Psycinfo

Journal of College Counseling: not listed as being indexed in APA Psycinfo, but I did find hundreds of articles from this journal indexed there. It looks like the most recent publications for this journal are October of 2021.

Indexed in Education Source or Academic Search Complete. For the most recent one year, request full text via ILL. Full text for the most recent 1 year is embargoed in both.
Adultspan Journal
Indexed in Education Source or Academic Source Complete
Journal of Military and Government Counseling
Open Access. Indexed at the journal level. So, you have to open the issue and scroll to the articles.
