Biography:
Verna Limes Heard was born in 1939 in Georgetown, South Carolina. Verna lived in New York until her marriage to Noble Heard in 1958, when she moved to Dover, Delaware. Many of her siblings joined her in Dover, including her mother. Noble and Verna have five children, sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Called “the glue that holds us together” by another family member, Verna has worked as an office manager in a dental office, as well as a caretaker for numerous members of her extended family. Verna is an avid reader. She enjoys sewing, other crafts, and playing on her organ.
