Tips for Finding Full Text Articles
- Always log into a database from the link on the library website to access our subscriptions.
- Don't ever pay for an article! Look for the button for options to print from full text/PDF or order through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
- ILL is free and usually arrives in less than 24 hours as a PDF attachment sent to your GSU student email.
Databases to start with
Developed and maintained by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the US National Library of Medicine (NLM), located at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This resource contains citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books in the fields of life sciences, behavioral sciences, chemical sciences, and bioengineering.
PubMed Special Queries
Special Queries is a search interface to find PubMed citations relating to specific subjects such as Healthy People 2010, Dietary Supplements and Health Disparities.
Embase is a biomedical and pharmacological bibliographic database of published literature designed to support information managers and pharmacovigilance in complying with the regulatory requirements of a licensed drug. Embase contains over 32 million records from over 8,500 currently published journals from 1947 to the present. Embase's international coverage expands across biomedical journals from 95 countries.
CINAHL Plus with Full Text
CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) covers nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health, and allied health disciplines, providing access to journals, books, dissertations, standards of practice.
MEDLINE with Full Text
Combines the National Library of Medicine's bibliographic database with links to the complete text of articles from leading medical journals. The database offers information related to the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and preclinical sciences.
PEDro (Physiotherapy Evidence Database)
PEDro is a free database of over 15,000 randomized trials, systematic reviews and clinical practice guidelines in physiotherapy. PEDro is produced by the Centre for Evidence-Based Physiotherapy at The George Institute for International Health.

Web of Science provides seamless access to the Science Citation Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index as well as Book Citation Index and Conference Proceedings Citation Index.

Academic Search Complete
Academic Search Complete provides complete coverage of multidisciplinary academic journals. The collection includes peer-reviewed journals, full-text periodicals, reports, and books, for STM research, the Social Sciences, Humanities, and other areas of academic studies. PDF content dates back as far as 1887.
Database produced by the AARP that provides bibliographic information on social gerontology (the study of aging in psychological, health-related, social, and economic contexts).
