LibAnswers Statistics

GPC instance of LibAnswers went live in January 2013. Statistics are collected  by FY, monthly data is recorded. Data is collected in the following categories:

  • Questions public
  • Questions private
  • Questions total
  • Views total
  • Queries
  • Knowledge base (total)
  • Knowledge base (new added)

Point to Include in Internal Instructions/Style Guides

1.) Set system default for new answers to be private. Then staff will have to remember to change them to public. This will ensure that questions and answers that the patron might not want publicized are not accidentally revealed on the homepage.

2.) Policies for topics? Are we going to have new topics run through a committee or will anyone be able to add them?

3. Keywords. Staff should use existing keywords AND try to think of alternate keywords. The more keywords we have provides a variety of options for the user and this allows for better access to the question and answer.
