Your research project will be the final assignment for the class. The research project will include three parts: an annotated bibliography, a research paper, and a presentation.
This project will focus on your career choice. You may focus on an issue related to your career or your career itself. For example, as a teacher, I might focus on the issue of Covid and how it has affected the current youth. On the other hand, if I choose to focus on the career, I would write about the process of becoming a teacher and/or the challenges faced by teachers.
An annotated bibliography is similar to your citation page except that underneath each MLA citation, you will give a brief explanation of the research it contains. This will ultimately be very beneficial to you when writing your research paper. Each annotation beneath the citations will be around five to seven sentences (you don't need to write more than one paragraph for this). Each paragraph will briefly explain the contents of the selected source along with how it is relevant to your paper. See OWL Purdue for more information after class https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/614/01/ . You are required to have, at least, five sources.
The research paper will need to be around 900-1000 words. This research paper is a further development of one of the formal essays of your choosing. You may use your argumentative or expository essay to further expound upon. Remember that this is a FORMAL MLA paper.
