How to: Poster Presentations: Talking About Your Poster

Talking About Your Poster

At attended poster presentation events, you will most likely be standing next to your poster, hoping to interact with the audience about your topic. You should be prepared to draw your viewers into conversation about your presentation and answer any questions that they might have.

Preparing a one to two minute talk about your work will help you further engage those who have stopped to look at your poster. You can start out by introducing yourself, give a brief background of your affiliation, field of study or research interests and then introduce the questions that your research presentation sought to answer.
