Broadcast News

WSBTV.com CNN , PBS News Hour , NPR , and CSPAN offer videos, written, stories, and often transcripts from credible, well known sources, though you can also click author/broadcaster profiles to learn more about those reporting the stories, while WSB is Atlanta's local broadcaster.

Newsletters and Independent Journalism

Opt Out A variety of essay/newsletter/investigative journalism sites dot the internet, and sometimes offer credible content. features long form articles, and its authors have biographies. At least some articles offer links to other pieces. OptOut and The 19th features and links to news and investigative articles with a left of center bias. Author biographies are available and brief. OptOut's pieces actually come from other sources.

ProPublica offers investigative journalism pieces, author biographies, and links to other articles, while The Prison Policy Initiative and   Hechinger Report respectively cover incarceration and education. Authors on both these sites have biographies.

Substack Substack and Ghost offer a wide variety of newsletters, published by an even wider variety of authors, some of whom are famous and/or credible. Look carefully at authors’ About links for full names, biographies, and qualifications. Some Substack articles are also paywalled and NOT available through the library.
