Dew ENGL 1101: Library Orientation: Finding Library Resources: Discover Box

Discover Box

You will find the Discover Box at the top of the library homepage: 

Type in your search terms and press the search button. 

 



Next, you will see the results page. This tool gives you all the sources we have in the entire library (physical and online) on your search term/ topic. 

 

To narrow down these results, you will see the option to "Refine Results" on the left side of the page.  

 

 

You can filter your results by Publication Date: 

 

 

You can filter your results by Source Type (journal article, newspaper, book, magazine, etc.) 

 

You can filter your results by Subject (meaning showing what related aspects or terms of your topic each source covers. Example: College Students (our search term) and postsecondary education (related term).  

 


                                                                                                                                                                            


 

Once you are done filtering your results, click on the source's title to open it. The title is in blue. 

This page will appear once you click the title. This page tells you information about the source, the link to the source itself (available in PDF format), and tools such as automatic citations, email, and more.
