Sussing Out Sources

How do we know when a source of information is trustworthy, when we were not there to witness the scene?

"Sussing Out Sources" teaches students to thoroughly evaluate information through a murder-mystery research lesson. Grounded in primary research in cognitive theory from Small Teaching: Everyday Lessons from the Science of Learning (2021) by James Lang, this lesson was created by Librarian Charlene to provide high-impact instruction in diverse learning settings. The lesson's objectives and assessments can be adapted to meet the needs of students in all disciplines and at various stages of their academic careers.

This lesson was created by Librarian Charlene to support the Georgia State University pillar of "College to Career" by facilitating students' obtainment of career-readiness competencies. Many thanks to Eric Wright for his contributions to this project.
