The initial phase of the Research-to-Action Project is designed to deepen your understanding of a social issue that personally resonates with you. By the end of Part 1, you should be able to describe the issue, outline its broader implications, and identify existing strategies for addressing it.
1. Identify Your Social Issue
2. Define the Social Issue and Scope of Your Project.
TIP: Contact Librarian Charlene at cmartoni@gsu.edu to set up a research consultation to learn more about searching literature.
3. Prepare an Annotated Bibliography
Recommended (not graded): Submit the idea for your project to the “Project Ideas” dropbox in iCollege to get feedback and suggestions to help get started, narrow your topic, or just let you know you’re on the right track. Include 1-2 sentences identifying the issue and at least 3 search terms to use in your research.
Submit Part 1 to the “Research-to-Action Part 1” dropbox in iCollege as a single file labeled as follows: yourlastnamefirstinitial_rap1.docx. (example: koreisj_rap1.docx).
Use APA formatting, 12-point font, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins. This should be a minimum of two pages.
