A workshop series with everything you need to tackle research reviews—smarter searches, stronger synthesis.

Review Rundown: A Guided Tour of Systematic Reviews

Systematic reviews can seem like a big leap from your usual lit review—but they don’t have to be overwhelming! Librarians Beth and Joel will introduce you to the world of systematic reviews and help you understand what sets them apart. Whether you’re prepping for a thesis, a publication, or just exploring your options, this session will give you a solid foundation to build on.

  • Identify the defining characteristics of a systematic review

  • Distinguish between different types of reviews - including which ones you can complete as a solo author!

  • Understand the role of pre-registration and why it matters

  • Explore what makes a review reproducible

  • Get introduced to critical appraisal and how to assess source quality

Bring your questions, curiosity, and maybe some coffee—we’ll bring the expert tips!

This session is part of the GSU Library's From Sources to Synthesis series, helping the campus community build the skills and knowledge to conduct effective evidence synthesis projects.
