Recording Studios: Orientation Get Started

Record straight to a microSD card with a touch of a button using the RØDECaster Pro II console or for more advanced users record to your favorite macOS digital audio workstation like GarageBand.

Record to microSD Card

  1. Use the red button on the back of the console to power on the RØDECaster Pro II
  2. Plug in your headphones
    • All headphones plug in the back
  3. Confirm each microphone fader button is sitting at the fourth line from the top
  4. Check headphone volume. Left of 12 o'clock is recommended. Warning: High volume may damage your hearing.
  5. Set the levels for each microphone. Press a microphone number button on the console, then the level thumbnail on the touchscreen, speak into your microphone and adjust - + your levels to stay within the green area.
  6. Insert the microSD card in the slot in the back of the console
  7. Hit the Rec button once to begin and again to stop the recording
  8. Eject the microSD card to transfer your files for post production

Record with Bluetooth

  1.  the red button on the back of the console to power on the RØDECaster Pro II
  2. Plug in your headphones
    • All headphones plug in the back
  3. Confirm each microphone fader button is sitting at the fourth line from the top
  4. Check headphone volume. Left of 12 o'clock is recommended. Warning: High volume may damage your hearing.
  5. Set the levels for each microphone. Press a microphone number button on the console, then the level thumbnail on the touchscreen, speak into your microphone and adjust - + your levels to stay within the green area.
  6.  Select the Bluetooth symbol on the screen or the royal blue button above the volume slider.
  7. Open the Sound Settings on your device, select ‘Bluetooth,’ then select RØDECaster Pro II to connect your device to the system.
  8. Check the RØDECaster Pro II screen to confirm your device is connected via Bluetooth.
  9. Open your preferred Audio Production program.
  10. Open sound settings for the audio program. Set default input and default output to RØDECaster Pro II.
  11. Hit the Rec button once to begin and ensure the audio is recording to your preferred audio program. 
  12. Save your recording file to your computer or preferred SD card/hard drive.

Record to Computer

  1. Use the red button on the back of the console to power on the RØDECaster Pro II
  2. Plug in your headphones
    • All headphones plug in the back
  3. Confirm each microphone fader button is sitting at the fourth line from the top
  4. Check headphone volume. Left of 12 o'clock is recommended. Warning: High volume may damage your hearing.
  5. Set the levels for each microphone. Press a microphone number button on the console, then the level thumbnail on the touchscreen, speak into your microphone and adjust - + your levels to stay within the green area.
  6.  Plug in the USB-C cord to your computer.
  7. Open your audio production program. 
  8. Open sound settings on your computer. Set input to RØDECaster Pro II chat. 
  9. Hit the Rec button once to begin and ensure the audio is recording to your preferred audio program. 
  10. Save your recording file to your computer or preferred SD card/hard drive.
