What's an Empirical Article?
So your professor said you had to use "empirical" scholarly articles for your project... And you might be thinking, "I have no idea what those are!" Don't panic - I'm here to help! By the end of this tutorial, you will:
- Understand what it means to do empirical research.
- Be able to identify an empirical article by looking for some specific features of articles that indicate they are empirical.
- Understand the basic difference between quantitative and qualitative empirical research.
- Be able to use specific limits in the PsycINFO and ERIC databases to find only empirical articles.
