Linking to articles and films: Proxy Link Generator

Creating persistent URLs or PURLs

Proxy info

Update: The EZ Proxy authentication software is being replaced with OpenAthens. EZ Proxy still works for now, but since these links will eventually be defunct, we recommend that your links direct your users to the OpenAthens authentication system. The rest of the tabs on this guide explain how to do that. Please let us know if you have any questions or problems.]

To access articles that GSU subscribes to from off-campus, users need to be routed through the proxy server. The proxy server authenticates the users as GSU by prompting the user to enter their CampusID and password.

The citation linker tool routes the user via SFX.  That's one way to do this, and you can read how to do that on the Citation Linker tab above.

The other way is to add the proxy prefix to the beginning of a stable URL.

If you don't use one of these steps, the link will work from on-campus, but not from off-campus.

You can use the GSU Proxy Link Generator tool to create your proxied links.
