Creating a Website

This library guide aims to provide resources for GSU students, faculty, and staff with resources on creating your website with various resources.

Adding Text, Images, and Multimedia

Think about your site’s purpose — whether it’s a portfolio, a research showcase, or a course page. Plan a clear structure to make it easy for visitors to navigate.

  • Click the “Insert” tab to add text boxes, images, and videos.
  • You can use Google Drive integrations to embed slideshows, documents, and spreadsheets.
  • Utilize pre-set content blocks to create professional-looking pages quickly.
  • Use "Pages" to add tabs to your website.

You can easily add more pages and tabs to you website with the following steps:

  1. Click on "Pages" panel
  2. Click on "New Page" button
  3. Name your new page and it will pop up under the Pages panel and in your website

Embedding Content

Google Sites allows you to embed external content, such as:

  • Google Docs/Sheets/Slides: Display research papers, datasets, or presentations.
  • Google Forms: Collect feedback or survey responses.
  • YouTube Videos: Share recordings of lectures or presentations.​​​​​​​
