Assignment Details

The purpose of this research guide is to offer guidance on where to find information for your ENGL 1102 essay.

Your essay will be an argument paper based on Persepolis.

Topic is of your own choice and can be about any theme, symbolism, or ambiguous situation.
Paper must be 750-1100 words, double spaced and 12 point font in Times New Roman or similar style
Must include page numbers and your last name and be in MLA format with a Works Cited page
Must use at least three outside resources, two of which have to be scholarly sources that are peer reviewed.
Must include at least three quotes
You can use the film but the graphic novel should be the focal point of the essay

Search tips:

If your search terms are too broad, try narrowing it down by asking the "W" questions - who, what, when, and where
Use filters
Try using synonyms for your search terms to get different results, like using "hypertension" instead of "high blood pressure"
