Video Tutorial: Find Marketing History Articles Using USNewstream

This video will walk you through the steps of finding articles in major U.S. newspapers. You can search any US major newspapers with the USNewstream database, Including newspapers such as the AJC, Wall Street Journals, Financial Times, NY Times, Baron's, and Boston Business Journal.

Find Articles in Major US and International Newspapers

  1. Open the US Newsstream database.for US newspapers; or open the Global  Newstream for international papers
  2.  Click on Advanced Search

  3. Enter Atlanta Journal Constitution or any major newspaper. Go to the right, click on the drop menu next to the "Anywhere" box. Find and click on "Publication title - PUB"

  4. Enter "nonprofit", Go to box to the right  Find and click on  "Subject heading -MAINHEADING" or just leave "Anywhere" for a broader search

  5. Go to the left side navigation. Use the time scale to limit your search to certain time windows i.e. 80s or 90s, and limit subjects to including "nonprofit organization ," "Nonprofit funding," etc...

Finding Articles in Academic and Popular Journals

Additional articles in academic and popular journals can be searched under the Journal tab.  Here are the steps how to search for these articles:

 

  1. Go to GSU Library 
  2. Click on the dropdown menu next to the Discover tool.
  3. Click on the Journal tab
  4. Enter the name of your journal or a keyword like "non-profit" or "nonprofit"
  5. Find the "Search in this Journal" link
  6. or Browse the publication dates and issues.

Full-text access to Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Barrons, BusinessWeek, Forbes, and Fortune all one page.
Click on the News Pages tab inside the database.

Search through all the publications by keyword or browse by section. 
Covers the last 2-3 weeks/issues.
