Applied Linguistics: Books

This is the research guide for Applied Linguistics.

Finding Books

Use the Library Catalog to find books in our library. The catalog also lists other materials in the library - including microfilm, dissertations, movies, music and special collections. The default search is a good place to start if you are looking for information on a topic. If you have more specific information, you can also search by title, subject or author using the Advanced Search options.

**For information on how to search the Library Catalog, see this guide.**

Getting books from other libraries

If GSU's library doesn't have what you need, don't give up.  There are several options to get the book you want:

  • GIL Express allows you to order books and other items from any University System of Georgia library.  Use the drop down menu to the right of the search box in the catalog to search all University System of Georgia catalogs, find the book you need, and click Get It.  Next, click "Sign-in for more options." GIL Express requests usually take only a few days.
  • You can also check out books in person from any University System of Georgia library or Emory University's libraries using your PantherCard.
  • If the book isn't available from a GIL Express/USG library, you can order it via Interlibrary Loan (ILL).  Log into ILLiad with your Campus ID and password to place a request.  ILL requests may take two weeks or more, so plan ahead.
