Faculty Select

Use Faculty Select's easy one stop shop to support textbook affordability. With Faculty Select, you can

• Search and access quality open textbooks
• Request ebooks from top academic publishers
  • ebooks purchased through this system are ideal for course content because they do not require user access codes (campus ID and password is the only login required), are DRM free, and allow all of your students to access the content at the same time.
• Find DRM-free ebooks in the library's collection

By utilizing free open materials and library-licensed resources, you as a faculty member can transform your courses and reduce the cost burden for your students.

This is the Faculty Select homepage. The search box searches for Open Access/DRM Free content by Keyword, Title or Author.

In the example shown below, we received 320 results for the Keyword: Anatomy. From there, you can focus your results using the limiters on the left sidebar. You can choose limiters, such as OER ONLY (Open Educational Resources/Free), EBooks Available for Purchase, or GSU eBooks. 

If you choose OER Only, then you will need to click on Preview or Adopt this eBook under the text of your selection. This will open a page like that shown below. 

On this page, if you select Preview this eBook, the publisher's page will open. If you select Receive a Course-Friendly Link, a form will open for you to notify a librarian that you would like to incorporate this text into your course or research.

If you find an ebook that you'd like to purchase, just click the request link to be routed through the process.

After clicking the request link, you will be prompted to fill out a request form that looks like the image below.
