Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do I need to wear a mask in the library?

Following CDC guidelines and a directive from the University System of Georgia, masks (or other facial coverings intended to prevent spread of COVID) are no longer required in the library. Masks are still strongly encouraged for those who are not fully vaccinated.

Q. Can alumni use library's databases?

Alumni cannot get remote access to the Library's research databases, unfortunately. Our license agreements only allow us to give access to current students, faculty, and staff.

Your options for accessing library databases include:

  • Use one of the visitor computers in the library (most databases are available on the visitor computers).
  • Check with your public library for access to GALILEO and other databases

Q. How do I log on to the wifi network in the library?

Students, Staff and Faculty:

If you are student, staff or faculty, you can connect to GSU’s wifi by using your CampusID and password. The wifi connection name is simply GSU.

If you find you are having trouble connecting, make sure your password is correct. You might even need to reset your password, as this is required to be done each semester. You can reset your password through by visiting campus ID Forgot My Password page.

Visitors:

Visitors can connect to the GSU wifi by using the Visitor@GSU connection. Once connected, you will need to accept the internet policy usage page. After this, you will have full access to the wifi.

Note that GSU-Guest is not usable by visitors or students.
