- Always log into a database from the link on the library website to access our subscriptions.
- Don't ever pay for an article! Look for the button for options to print from full text/PDF or order through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
- ILL is free and usually arrives in less than 24 hours as a PDF attachment sent to your GSU student email.
Databases to start with
A service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine that indexes over 20 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals for biomedical articles back to the 1950s. Articles tend to be very clinically-focused. You can also search MEDLINE via MEDLINE (at EBSCOhost).
CINAHL Plus with Full Text
CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) covers nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health, and allied health disciplines, providing access to journals, books, dissertations, standards of practice.
Web of Science
Includes citations from more than 8,000 peer-reviewed journals in the sciences and social sciences. Includes Arts & Humanities Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Science Citation Index.
MEDLINE with Full Text
Combines the National Library of Medicine's bibliographic database with links to the complete text of articles from leading medical journals. The database offers information related to the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and preclinical sciences.
PubMed Special Queries
Special Queries is a search interface to find PubMed citations relating to specific subjects such as Healthy People 2010, Dietary Supplements and Health Disparities.

Academic Search Complete provides complete coverage of multidisciplinary academic journals. The collection includes peer-reviewed journals, full-text periodicals, reports, and books, for STM research, the Social Sciences, Humanities, and other areas of academic studies. PDF content dates back as far as 1887.
Database produced by the AARP that provides bibliographic information on social gerontology (the study of aging in psychological, health-related, social, and economic contexts). Includes information regarding the delivery of health care to the older population and its associated costs and policies, as well as consumer, employment, and public policy issues.

The Campbell Collaboration produces systematic reviews of the effects of social interventions within the areas of education, crime and justice, social welfare and international development.
Provides evidence to inform healthcare decision-making in a collection of six databases: Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR), Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Cochrane Methodology Register, Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects (DARE), Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Database, and NHS Economic Evaluation Database.
Dietary Supplements Labels Database
Includes information from the labels of over 2,000 brands of dietary supplements in the marketplace, including vitamins, minerals, herbs or other botanicals, amino acids, and other specialty supplements.
