Trade Publications

Trade publications or trade journals are periodicals that are written for and by people involved in a particular industry. Examples include Publishers Weekly and Adweek. They are not scholarly in nature or peer reviewed. However, they can be valuable sources of information for current news and analysis related to specific industries. 

Finding Trade Publications in ABI Inform Collection

ABI/Inform Collection provides access to several source types, including Trade Journals. To find them, use the advanced search and scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the Source Type limiter and put a check in the Trade Journals box.

Trade Associations

Trade associations are great sources of information for industry analysis. They provide reports analyzing trends and many statistical studies on the market for that industry. Some assocations make their reports available to the public for their website. Try doing a Google search for "trade association [your industry]" to see what you can find. Finding Trade Publications in Business Source Ultimate

Business Source Ultimate provides access to several publication types. From the advanced search screen select the Trade Publication option from the Publication Type dropdown menu.
