Psychology: General Research Guide: Using Databases to Find Tests



A research database that provides access to psychological tests, measures, scales, surveys, and other assessments as well as descriptive information about the test and its development and administration.

The American Psychological Association offers information, help pages, and online tutorials to help you get started using this database.

  1. Choose advanced search.
  2. Enter your keyword in the first search box and leave the drop-down menu next to it as is.
  3. In the second search box, enter this search string (copy and paste if you wish):
    (test* or measure* or questionnaire* or scale* or survey* or assessment*) and appended
  4. Select Abstract from the drop-down menu next to the above search string
  5. Click Search

Note: A specific test name can be substituted for keywords in the first search box as well.
