Some Things to Think About...

Some things to think about... While the GSU Library may have lots of magazines available (and now even online), if you were living in a rural area with a "small town" library, would it have the magazines you are looking for, even the mainstream stuff, let alone more "obscure" magazines (i.e., magazines geared at the LGBTQ community)?  Would most libraries even today have these LGBTQ publications?  And, remember to ask yourself as you read your articles: How is heteronormativity being reproduced and/or challenged?

LGBT Life database and the Archives of Sexuality & Gender: LGBTQ History and Culture Since 1940

    • The Nation (1865-present) - America's oldest weekly magazine
    • Readers' Guide Retrospective: 1890-1982  contains comprehensive indexing of the popular general-interest periodicals published in the United States and reflects the history of 20th century America. More than 375 magazines and periodicals are covered, and many titles are indexed back to their first issue date.
