Public Health: Online Program in Chronic Disease: How to Access Resources From off Site

This research guide is for Georgia State's career development program for public health workers.

Get Your Library PIN

You will need a library PIN to access your library account, get the GALILEO password, renew materials online and request items from other libraries through interlibrary loan.

To obtain your PIN, start on the library home page and click on My Library Account.

  1. Enter your Library ID# (located on your Panther Card)
  2. Enter your last name.
  3. Click on the Get My Pin link. A temporary PIN will be e-mailed to you in approximately 1-3 hours.
  4. Once you have received your temporary PIN, log in to your account again at My Library Account.
  5. Change your PIN by clicking on the Change PIN button directly under your name & address under "Personal Information."
  6. Write down your PIN!
NOTE: Using MS Edge to change your PIN will cause the browser to hang up for a minute or so while completing the process. Firefox is recommended because it does not have a delay.

Off-campus Access

You must access these databases through a library website (like this page or the Databases page) so that the system recognizes you as a GSU user.

All library resources are available off campus. If you click a database link while off campus, log in with your Campus ID and password (the same ID you use for GSU email).

You can search for books in the library catalog from off campus without logging in.  Click this link to find out more about what resources you which user names and passwords.
