Chemistry: Subject Guide: Library Services

What Can Your Subject Specialist Do For You?

Information Literacy Instruction
Request Course Reserves
I teach library information sessions for many situations, from a general introduction to the GSU Library to searching specific databases for upper-level assignments. I can personalize class sessions, lectures, or workshops to cover research for specific assignments, scholarly communication in the sciences, and more. I'm also happy to present at orientations.

Collection Development
I welcome suggestions for books and other resources you would like the library to purchase; email any suggestions to me or your department's book chair. Feel free to notify me on new research interests. You can also fill out a suggestion for purchase.

Online Resources
Chemistry Research Guides
Library guides serve as an online resource for undergraduate and graduate students, providing a convenient collection of information useful for research, writing, and career development. I am open to suggestions for resources. I can also create course-specific research guides, tailored to your classes.

Research Help
I am available through email or phone to schedule research consultations. For classes with a library research component, I encourage faculty to schedule a classroom session with me and include my contact information on the syllabus to give students the best help possible.

Collaboration
I am open to developing other services. GSU subject librarians have attended departmental events and faculty meetings, worked with teaching faculty to develop assignments, talked with faculty and graduate students about publication, and more. If you think I might be of use in some way, ask!
