Georgia Newspaper Project

UGA Libraries has preserved and microfilmed over 2,500 Georgia newspapers. The microfilm can be used in Athens, and is sometimes available through interlibrary loan.

A few titles have also been digitized and are available in the Digital Library of Georgia:
-Cherokee Phoenix (1828-1834)
-Dublin Post (1878-1887)
-Colored Tribune (1876)

Foreign and ethnic papers

The Center for Research Libraries (CRL) holds extensive runs of more than 6,000 foreign newspaper titles and 500 U. S. ethnic newspaper titles.

GSU users can interlibrary loan these materials.

Newspapers by title

The lists below are not comprehensive. Search for additional titles in GIL. One way to identify additional titles is to consult a bibliography, such as the History and Bibliography of American Newspapers, 1690-1820.
